Abstract :In DDL language learners are capable of becoming investigators or detectors (johns, 1991), and DDL gives EFL learners the opportunity to acquire native like language items. The goal of this study to examine the efficacy of the DDL approach in the EFL environment. It reviews and compares the results of 10 related studies to measure how the DDL approach affects students’ well-being. It also looks into how much using this method in the classroom enhances students’ proficiency with learning English as a second language. The results that were reached after collecting and review the results of these articles show that applying the DDL approach in classes contributes effectively to improving students’ well-being in terms of learning new vocabulary, grammar, and their writing skills. The significance of this study is to give a clear view of the contribution of the DDL approach to improving the students’ language and their future motivation.
