Abstract :Kent Bilgi Sistemleri (KBS), bir kente ait grafik ve grafik olmayan verilerin temin edilmesi ve uygun bir mekânsal bilgi sistemi ortamında güncellenerek yönetilmesi suretiyle kent yönetimi ve kentli hizmetlerinin sunumunda etkili çözümler sunan, Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS) destekli bir sistemdir. Çevre ve Şehircilik Bakanlığı Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri Genel Müdürlüğü, kullanımı kolay, etkili ve mekânsal veri temini, paylaşımı ve değişiminde gerekli olan ulusal standartları belirlemeye yönelik geliştirilen Türkiye Ulusal Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri Projesi (TUCBS) ile uyumlu ulusal KBS çerçevesi oluşturmak konusunda bir proje yürütmektedir. Bu bildiride, bahsi geçen proje irdelenerek KBS’nin kentsel hizmetlerin etkili ve kolay biçimde yerine getirilmesinde üstlendiği rol tartışılacaktır.
