Abstract :Kurtuluş Savaşı zamanında işgale uğrayan Batı Anadolu,  işgalden düzenli orduyla birlikte yerel kuvvetlerin desteğiyle kurtulmuştur. Savaşın yarattığı olumsuzluklar ve bin yıldır vatan olarak benimsenen toprakların işgale uğraması büyük bir endişe yaratmıştır. Bu endişe, hem Millî Mücadele döneminde hem de sonrasındaki birçok edebî üründe çeşitli yönleriyle işlenmiştir. Belirli şahıs, yer ve hadiseler hakkında anlatılan, olağanüstü olmasına rağmen inandırıcılık vasfı olan, anlatıcıları ve dinleyicileri tarafından gerçek kabul edilen efsaneler de millî mücadele dönemine ait bilgiler sunan edebî anlatılardandır. Batı Anadolu halkının inanma ihtiyaçları, hayal güçleri ve kültürel bellekleriyle kurguladıkları efsanelerinde, Millî Mücadele ve Kurtuluş savaşı çeşitli yönleriyle konu edinilir ve vatan toprağının kutsallığı sıklıkla işlenir. Türklerin kadim kültürlerinden bu yana evren tasarımlarında önemli bir alan olan çeşitli kültleri bu efsanelerde motif olarak yer alır. Kültürel belleğin sürekliliğiyle bu efsanelerde yer alan söz konusu kültler, Millî Mücadelenin manevi kısmını oluşturmuş ve vatan toprağının kutsallığı düşüncesini somutlaştırarak inşa etmiştir. ABSTRACT             The occupation of Western Anatolia, which was occupied during the War of Independence, was ensured with the support of local forces along with the regular army.  The negativity caused by the war and the occupation of the homeland created a great concern for the people. This concern has been dealt with in various aspects in many literary works put forward both during the National Struggle and after that.             The legends narrated about certain individuals, places and events, which are considered to be true by their narrators and listeners despite being extraordinary, are literary narratives that provide information about the period of national struggle. In these legends, which are constructed with the need of believing, imagination and cultural memory of the people of Western Anatolia, the National Struggle and Independence War is the subject of various aspects and the holiness of the homeland is frequently emphasized. Since the ancient cultures of Turks, various cults that have an important place in universe designs take place as motifs in these legends.  With the continuity of cultural memory, the cults mentioned in these legends constituted the spiritual wing of the National Struggle and concretized the idea of ​​the sanctity of the homeland.
