Abstract :The first starting point of this study is UNESCO’s declaration of 2020 as the “Year of Farabi (Alpharabius)”. This study has two intertwined topics and aims. The first is to remind that Farabi, a great Islamic philosopher who grew up in the Middle Ages and was nourished by Ancient Greek philosophy, can be a hidden treasure of philosophy for both the Western scientific world and even contemporary economists. Farabi, who regarded himself as a student of Aristotle, was given the title “Aristotle of the Islamic world”. Farabi’s synthetic philosophy cannot be considered independent and isolated from the era in which he experienced difficulties and the Middle East geography, including Syria, where he traveled and lived. In this context, his Islamic philosophy is based on a tripod of metaphysics, ethics, and politics, which also interact with economic philosophy. Farabi’s classical philosophical views are focused on topics that also fall within the scope of economic sociology, such as social ethics, justice, trade, and urban life. The second is related to the insights that can be gained if the Syrian War is also viewed through the lens of Farabi’s philosophy. Syria has spiritual value because it is the country that was influenced by Farabi’s philosophy and where he spent his life. Here, it is intended to express that Islamic philosophy, of which Farabi is a pioneer, can serve as a healing prescription against the war / crisis conjuncture in Syria in the light of the phenomena of virtue, rationality, and social justice. Keywords : Farabi Felsefesi, ktisatçılar için Rehber, Suriye Savaşı
