Abstract :The aim of this research is to examine the Empathic Tendency levels and Critical Thinking Skills of the students who are registered in the ninth grade at the end of the 2021 High School Entrance Examination insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LGS); in the central district of Tokat and to reveal the relationship between these two variables. In the research, descriptive model was used to reveal the existing situation as it is, and in addition, the correlational model was used to determine the relations between the variables examined in the study. The study group of the research consists of 408 students. In the study, it was observed that the empathic disposition levels of the 9th grade students were slightly above the medium level, and their critical thinking skills were below the medium level. While the level of empathic tendency differed significantly according to the gender variable, it did not differ significantly according to the variable of parental attitude, there was no significant relationship between the levels of empathic tendency and academic achievement of the students participating in the study, and there was a low level of negative significant relationship between the levels of empathic tendency and critical thinking skills.
