Abstract :Technical education in Akwa Ibom State is not given the desired attention and it has a negative impact on industrial development. The study aimed to examine how technical education influence industrial development in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Anchored on Gary Becker’s Human Capital Theory, the research adopted a qualitative approach. Using an exploratory survey design, data were collected from 27 technical instructors selected purposively across the nine (9) public technical colleges in Akwa Ibom State. Data collected were coded, transcribed and analysed using thematic analysis. The study found that industrial development in Akwa Ibom State is significantly hindered by outdated curricula, insufficient infrastructure and a shortage of competent technical instructors in technical education, all of which undermine the development of relevant human capital and practical skills necessary for innovation, employability and sustainable economic growth. The study suggested that sustainable industrial development in Akwa Ibom State depends on urgent reforms and strategic investments in technical education, particularly in modernising technical curriculum, enhancing instructor competence and equipping institutions with industry-relevant infrastructure to produce a skilled, entrepreneurial and innovation-driven workforce. Keywords : Teknik Eğitim, Sanayi Kalkınması, Müfredat, Eğitim, Teknik Eğitmenler
