Abstract :Gazzîzâde Abdüllatîf Efendi, Miladi XVIII. yüzyılın sonu ile XIX. asrın ilk çeyreğinde Bursa’da yaşamıştır. Bu dönem Osmanlı devletinde yeniliklerin ve ıslahatların son hızıyla devam ettiği bir dönemdir. Gazzîzâde, bu dönemde bir yandan devletin birliği ve bekası için çaba gösterirken diğer yandan ıslahatların ve Avrupa’ya özentinin halkta meydana getirdiği yozlaşmaları tamir etmeye çalışmaktadır. Gazzîzâde, eserlerinde; özellikle Fâtiha sûresi tefsîrinde, dönemin siyasi, sosyal ve ahlaki problemlerine genişçe yer vermiş ve bunların ıslahı için çare olarak bir mürşidin terbiyesinde, dini ve tasavvufi bir hayatın yaşanmasından başka çözüm yolunun bulunmadığını vurgulamıştır. Eserde ana tema tasavvuftur. Ancak o ehl-i sünnetin itikadının doğruluğunu savunma ve bâtıl fırkalara cevap mahiyetinde kelama da genişçe yer vermiştir. The period was an era of intense reforms in Ottoman history. Gazzīzāde made his best in order to ensure the unity and survival of the state on the one hand and tried to make up for the corruption in society due to groundless admiration in Europe on the other. In his works, particularly in his exegesis of al-Fātihah, Gazzīzāde extensively treats political, social and moral problems of his day and puts forth a proper Sūfī life as the only way to cure the problems through education of mentors. Sūfism constitutes the main theme of the work. Nonetheless, he also comprehensively deals with Kalam so as to defend the righteousness of the faith among Ahl al-Sunnah and to provide a response against void and superstitious parties.
