Abstract :Abstract: This case report presents a rare instance of ALERD, highlighting its clinical presentation, diagnostic process, and management strategies. A 17-year-old female patient exhibited with encephalopathy, prompting further investigation. The case emphasizes the importance of early detection and intervention, contributing to the existing literature on ALERD. Introduction: ALERD is a rare disorder characterized by seizures, altered consciousness, and other neurological symptoms. It poses significant diagnostic challenges due to its symptoms. Understanding its clinical course and management strategies is crucial for improving patient outcomes. This report details a case of ALERD diagnosed in a 17-year-old female emphasizing key clinical features and treatment approaches. Case Report: A 17-year-old female presented with altered consciousness. Initial examinations revealed. Diagnostic workup, including serum, CSF levels and Magnetic resonance imaging confirmed ALERD. The patient was managed with pulse steroid and IVIG leading to opening in consciousness. This case underscores the need for early recognition and tailored therapeutic interventions. Conclusion: This case highlights the challenges associated with diagnosing and managing ALERD. Early identification and targeted interventions are crucial for optimal patient outcomes.
