Abstract :Kazım Karabekir Paşa milli mücadele döneminin önde gelen isimle-rinden biridir. Meclis Başkanı olarak görev yaparken geçirdiği kalp krizi ne-deniyle 26 Ocak 1948’de hayatını kaybetti. Ülke genelinde yas ilan edilerek resmi dairelerde bayraklar yarıya indirildi. Cenaze töreninde önemli devlet erkânının yanı sıra alanları dolduran binlerce kişi Paşanın naaşını selamlaya-rak dualarla son yolculuğuna uğurladı. Kazım Karabekir Pasha is one of the leading names of the Turkish War of Independence. He lost his life due to a heart attack that he suffered when he was serving as the Chairperson of the Turkish Parliament on 26 Jan-uary 1948. A national mourning was declared, and the flag was flown at half-mast in governmental agencies. In the funeral ceremony, thousands of people in addition to high status officials saluted the Pasha’s corpse and paid their last respects with prayers.
