Abstract :SUMMARY PREOPERATIVE EVALUATION OF PROSTATIC VOLUME BY SUPRAPUBIC ULTRASONOGRAPHY Thirthythree patients were examinet by suprapubic transvesical ultrasonography before prostatectomy. Twentynine of the patients were treated by transvesical prostatectomy and the rest four by transurethral resection. Preoperative estimation of prostatic volume, sphare, mean radius sphare and ellipsoid formulas were used in each case. There was a good correlation insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r:0.879); between the volume of the surgicaly removed specimen and the ultrasono¬graphic estimation of the same volume by ellipsoid formula. ÖZET Prostatektomi öncesi otuzüç hasta suprapubik transvezikal ultrasonografi ile incelendi. Hastalardan yirmidokuzu transvezikal, dört tanesi de transüretral yöntem ile öpere edildi. Prostatın preoperatif ağırlığının tayininde küre, ortalama çaplı küre ve elipsoid formülleri her hastada kullanıldı. Preoperatif tahmin edilen ağırlık ile postoperatif spesmen ağırlığı ara¬sında elipsoid formülü iyi korelasyon insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r:0.879); gösterdiği bulundu.
