Abstract :SUMMARY PHYSICAL GROWTH MEASUREMENTS OF CHILDREN BETWEEN 7-11 YEAR OLD LIVING IN SAMSUN We studied 3118 healthy children who come from families of high socio-economic status in the region of Samsun. The age range was between 7 to 11 years with 1543 of them being male. The height and weight of the children were measured. The results of our study were compared with those reported by various authors. Our results once more emphasized the importance of using local developmental nouns in the assesment growth and development of children. ÖZET Samsun Bölgesinde sosyoekonomik düzeyi yüksek olan ailelerden seçilen 3118 sağlıklı çocuğu inceledik. Yaş sınırı 7-11 yaş arasında olup bunların 1543*ü erkekti. Çocukların boy ve ağırlık¬ları ölçüldü. Çalışmamızın sonuçları değişik araştırıcıların çalışmaları ile karşılaştırıldı. Bu sonuçlarımız çocukların büyüme ve gelişmelerinin değerlendirilmesinde bölgesel gelişim normlarının kullanılmasının önemini bir kez daha vurgulamaktadır.
