Abstract :Fazadinium and Intubating Conditions Fazadinium insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(AH 8165, Fazadon);, in doses of 0.75 mg/kg, 1 mg/kg and 1.25 mg/kg was given to 48 children between the ages of 6 months - 12 years in groups of 16 to evaluate intubating conditions and speed of intubation an to find out the optimal dose for this purpose. 16 children were also given 0.1 mg/kg Pancuronium for comparison. The times to intubation for the three dose levels of Fazadinium were shorter than Pancuronium and the difference between the groups of Fazadinium 1.25 mg/kg and Pancuronium was statistically significant insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(P <0.01); Intubating conditions with 0.75 mg/kg Fazadinium were found unsatifactory. While Fazadinium 1 mg/kg provided conditions similar to Pancuronium, Fazadinium 1.25 mg/kg provided the best intubating conditions in the shortest time. Fazadinium in doses of 1-1.25 mg/kg may be a useful relaxant especially in emergency cases where rapid and smooth intubation is required or in cases where mixing of the two types of muscle relaxant or use of a depolarizing muscle relaxant is not desired.
