Abstract :Bumetanide: A Nev Loop Diuretic Bumetanide is a recently introduced diuretic that inhibits sodium transport in the thick as-cendingi limb of the loop Henle. It is structurally and pharmacologically similar to furosemide, but is approximately 40 times as potent on a miligram-for-miligram basis. After oral administration, it is rapidly absorbed, with peak serum concentrations attained at approximately 30 minutes. Bumetanide has demonstrated efficacy in the management of edema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis and renal insufficiency. Bumetanid, henle kulpunun çıkan kolunun sodyum transportunu inhibe eden yeni bir diüretiktir. Farmakolojik ve yapısal özelikleri yönünden furosemid`e büyük benzerlik göstermekle birlikte miligram başına ondan ortalama 40 kez daha potent özellik gösterir. Oral alımdan sonra hızla absorbe olur ve 30 dakika içerisinde en yüksek plazma düzeylerine ulaşır. Bumetanid, konjestif kalp yetmezliği, böbrek yetmezliği ve karaciğer sirozu olgulanndaki ödemin tedavisindeki etkinliği gösterilmiştir
