Abstract :The role of C-reactive protein in predicting postoperative septic complications . ✓We studied 36 patients undergoing surgical procedures to determine whether daily C-reactive protein insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CRP); measurements for 7 days postoperatively could predict the occurence of septic complications prior to clinical diagnosis. Diagnostic criteria for septic complica¬tions and positive CRP response were defined in advance of the study. Twelve septic complica¬tions were diagnosed in 11 patients. These complications consisted of four wound infections, three upper respiratory tract, two intra-abdominal infections and a biliary peritonitis. The CRP testing was found to have a positive predictive value of 66% and a negative predictive val¬ue of 87%. We conclude that serial CRP measurements way be a valuable adjunct to surgical care in patients at high risk of postoperative septic complications. ✓ Postop septik komplikasyonları klinik tanıdan önce ortaya koyabilmek amacıyla kli-niğimizde ameliyat ettiğimiz 36 cerrahi hastada postop 7 gün süreyle günlük CRP takipleri yapıldı. CRP insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(+); ligi septik komplikasyonların habercisi olarak kabul edildi. 11 hastada, 12 septik komplikasyon oluştu. Bunlar; yara enfeksiyonu insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(dört);, akciğer enfeksiyonu insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(üç); üriner sistem enfeksiyonu insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(iki);, intraabdominal enfeksiyon insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(iki); ve bilier peritonit insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(bir); idi. CRP ölçümleriyle Pozitif tahmin değeri %66, Negatif tahmin değeri %87 bulundu. Sonuç olarak postop septik komplikasyon riski yüksek olan hastalarda seri CRP ölçümlerinin yapılmasının tanısal değerinin olduğu kanısına varıldı.Keywords :
