Abstract :The etiologic distribution of seizures in 0-12 years old children %/ This study was performed in Pediatrics Clinics of Atatürk University Medical School. The 238 patients aged between 0-12 years old, 98 female and 140 male, who applied to hospital with the complains! of seizures were included to the study. Sepsis took the first place in newborn seizures with the ratio of 33 %. Between the ages of 1 month-2 years febrile seizures took the first place with the ratio of 49 % and followed by seizures due to metabolic disorders insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(26 %); and seizures due to intracranial infections insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(15 %);. While febrile seizures also took the first place insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(55 %); in the group of 2-12 years old; seizures due to intracranial infections insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(23 %); were the second. We didn`t inspected seizures due to metabolic disorders in this age group. Infections took the first place in the etiology of seizures and hypocalcemia due to ric¬kets had a high proportion among the seizures of metabolic disorders, and are still im¬portant health problems our region Bu çalışma. Aralık 1989-1990 tarihleri arasında Atatürk Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Araştırma Hastanesi Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Anabilim dalında yapıldı. Çalışma kapsamına, konvülsiyon şikayeti ile müracaat eden 0-12 yaş grubu 98`i kız, 140`ı erkek olmak üzere 238 hasta alındı. Yenidoğan dönemi konvülsiyon sebepleri içinde % 33 oranıyla sepsis ilk sırayı aldı. Bir ay ile 2 yaş arasında ise % 49 oranıyla febril konvülsiyonlar daha fazla gözlenirken metabolik nedenli konvülsiyonlar ise ikinci sırada yer aldı insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(% 26);. İki ile 12 yaşlar arasında ilk sırayı yine febril konvülsiyonlar insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(% 55); alırken intrakra-nial enfeksiyonlara bağlı konvülsiyonlar ikinci sırada gözlendi insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(% 23);. Bu dönemde metabolik sebepli konvülsiyonlara rastlanmadı. Tüm yaş gruplarında konvülsiyon etyolojisinde ilk sırayı enfeksiyonların alması ve me¬tabolik nedenli konvülsiyonlar içinde raşitizme bağlı hipokalsemi oranının yüksek olması, yöremizde enfeksiyon hastalıklarının ve raşitizmin halen bir sağlık problemi olarak devam ettiğini göstermektedir
