Abstract :The Activities of Ondokuzmayıs University Medical Faculy Pain Management Unit \/ Pain management unit was initiated on the second half of 1988. This study retrospective¬ly evaluates patient population suffering to the pain management unit. It was concluded that in our district, there are problems concerning directing chronic and especially cancer pain patient to a management unit and that this situation is caused by insufficient edu¬cation of the patients and medical staff. 1988 yılı ikinci yansında çalışmalarına başlayan ağrı ünitesinin retrospektif tarama ile hasta popülasyonu değerlendirilmiştir. Bölgemizde malignite ağrıları başla olmak üzere kronik ağrılı hastaların bir merkeze zamanında yönlendirilemediği ve bu konuda eğilim programlanna yeterli yer verilmediği kanısına varılmıştır.
