Abstract :Effects of Adenosine and Caffeine on Spinal Reflex in the Cat l/ Effects of adenosine and caffeine, which is antagonist of purinergic substances were in-vestigated in anaesthetized spinal cats insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=10);, Adenosine 1,2,3 mM/ml local, 0.75, 1.5, 2.25 mg/kg i.v.; and caffeine 0.3,1,2,3 mM/ml local, 30,40,60,75 mg/kg i.v. were admi¬nistrated. Nerves of left hind limb were stimulated electrically. Recordings were made from dorsal and ventral roots of the L5,6,7 and SI,2. Local and systemic administration of low dosage adenosine insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1 mM/ml; 0.75 mg/kg); did not affect monosynaptic reflex. However, high dosage of adenosine insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(3 mM/ml; 2.25 mg/kg); caused inhibition on monosynaptic ref¬lex. Systemic dosages of adenosine were much more effective than local dosages. Low do-sage of caffeine insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(30,40 mg/kg); had little effect on monosynaptic reflex, medium dosage of caffeine insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(60 mg/kg); increased the monosynaptic reflex. High dosage of caffeine insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(75 mg/kg); caused convulsion on the object. These results show the presence of Pl-purinoceptors in the spinal cord and it may indicate that purinergic system may play a important role to regulate reflex respond. Anestezili ve spinal kedilerde insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=10); purinerjik maddelerden adenozin ve metilksantinler¬den purinerjik antagonist kafeinin, omurilik reflekslerine olan etkileri araştırıldı. Adenozin 1,2,3 mM/ml lokal, 0.75, 1.5, 2.25 mg/kg i.v. ve kafein 0.3, 1,2,3 mM/ml lokal 30,40,60,75 mg/kg i.v. olarak verildi. Sol arka ekstremitenin sinirleri elektriksel uyaran¬larla uyarıldı. Omuriliğin L5,6,7 ile S 1,2 ön ve arka köklerinden kayıtlar alındı. Adenozinin lokal ve sistemik olarak uygulanmasında düşük dozlar insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1 mM/ml; 0.75 mg/kg); mono-sinaptik refleksi etkilemedi, yüksek dozlar insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(3 mM/ml; 2.25 mg/kg); ise monosinaptik reflekslerde inhibisyona sebep oldu. Adenozinin sistemik dozları lokal dozlarından daha etkiliydi. Kafeinin düşük dozunun insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(30,40 mg/kg); çok az etkili olduğu, orta dozunun insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(60mg/kg); monosinaptik refleksi artırdığı gözlendi. Yüksek dozdaki kafein insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(75 mg/kg); ise denekte konvülsiyona neden oldu. Bu sonuçlar bize omurilikte Pl-purinoseptörlerin olabi¬leceğini ve refleks cevabın düzenlenmesinde purinerjik sistemin rol oynayabileceğini düşündürmektedir.
