Abstract :%/ Hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte disturbance seen in the hospitalized pa¬tients. Severe symptomatic hyponatremia insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(serum sodium concentration < 120 mmol per liter); may be associated with permanent brain damage or death. However, many authori¬ties have reported that rapid correction causes pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis. Therefore, the treatment of hyponatremia is controversial. We present a patient had a neurologic syndrome with clinical findigs typical of pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis, which developed after the treatment of severe hyponatremia Hiponatremi, hastanede yatan hastalarda en sık görülen elektrolit bozukluğudur. Şiddetli semptomatik hiponatremi insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(serum sodyum düzeyi <120 mmol/L); kalıcı beyin hasarına veya ölüme neden olabilir.
