Abstract :One hundred and thirtyeight patients who have renal and ureteral stones at various loca¬lization and levels, treated by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ESWL);, were evalua¬ted retrospectively. It has found that success and re treat men I rates were related directly to stone burden and localization. In the renal stones if size is greater than 2 cm re treat¬ment rate and number of shock wave are high and success rate is low. For the upper and middle ureteral stones treatment success rate is greater than lower ureteral stones. In the lower ureteral stones retreatment rate is higher than upper and middle ureteral stones. It is concluded that ESWL is the preferred form of management for symptomatic upper, middle ureteral stones and renal calculi less than 2 cm in diameter. V Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Üroloji Anabilirn Dalı ESWL ünitesinde tedavi edilen değişik boyut ve farklı lokalizasyondaki toplam 138 böbrek ve üreter taşlı hasta retrospektif olarak gözden geçirildi. Başarı ve tedavi tekrar oranlarının taşın lokalizasyonu ve boyuttan ile yakından ilişkili olduğu saptandı, iki cm`den büyük böbrek taşlarında, başarı şansı azalırken uygulanan şok sayısı ve tedavi tekrarı oranlarının arttığı tespit edildi. Üst ve orta üreter taşlarında, üreter alt uç taşlarına göre basan oranları daha yüksek, tedavi tekrar oranlarının daha düşük olduğu görüldü. Bu sebeple ESWL monoterapi 2 cm den küçük böbrek ve üst ve orta üreter taşları için oldukça etkili, güvenilir ve noninvaziv teda¬vi yöntemidirKeywords :
