Abstract :Mycobacteria and Their Endurance to Environmental Factors The mycobacteria are rod-shaped, aerobic bacteria that do not form s pores. Although they do not stain readily, once stained they resist decolorization by acid or alcohol and are the-refor called acid-fast bacilli. M.tuberculosis causes tuberculosis and is a very important pathogen of humans. M.avium-intracellulare insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(M.avium complex); and other atypical myco-bacteria frequently infect patiets with AIDS, are opportinistic pathogens in other immuno-compromised persons, and occasionally cause disease in patients with normal immune systems. Mycobacteria are obligate aerobes and growth rate is much slower than that of most bac-teria. Mycobacteria tend to be more resistant to physical and chemical agents or antibac-terial agents than other bacteria. Mikobakteriler çomak şeklinde, aerob, spor oluşturmayan bakterilerdir. Kolay boyanma-malarına karşın, bir kez boyandıktan sonra asit veya alkol ile dekolarizasyona dirençlidir¬ler ve bu nedenle asit-fast basil olarak isimlendirilirler.M. tuberculosis, tüberküloz etkeni olup, insan için önemli bir patojendir M.avium intracellulare insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(M.avuim complex);ve diğer atipik mikobakteriler sıklıkla AİDS hastalan ve diğer immun sistemi baskılanmış kişileri infekte eder ve normal immun sistemi olan hastalarda bazan hastalığa neden olur. Mikobakteriler zorunlu aerob olup, üreme dereceleri bir çok bakteriden daha yavaştır. Mi¬kobakteriler fiziksel ve kimyasal ajanlara veya antibakteriyel ajanlara da diğer bakteriler¬den daha dirençlidirler.
