Abstract :Antiphospholipid Antibodies and Antiphospholipid Syndrome Antiphospholipid syndrome insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(AFS); is defined by the association of antiphospholipid antibodies with certain clinical manifestations such as thrombophilia, recurrent fetal loss and thrombocytopenia. There are two forms of antiphospholipid syndrome with a common clinical presentation. The Primary antiphospholipid syndrome occurs without an underlying disease while secondary antiphospholipid syndrome develops in association with systemic lupus erythematosus insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SLE); and other autoimmune diseases. There are also more than one type of antiphospholipid antibodies such as lupus anticoagulant and anticardiolipin antibodies which appears to be distinct forms, though closely related. Although several mechanisms are proposed to describe the pathogenesis of the syndrome, the exact mechanism is not known yet.
