Abstract :The Diagnosis of Dementia Dementia is charecterized by progressive intellectual deterioration. Differential diagnosis of dementia is important. Metabolic and structural causes must be examined. In the diagnosis of dementia a detailed history and clinical examination are needed. Then laboratory tests must be performed. In this study the diagnosis of dementia is discussed with the previous literature. Kognitif alanlarda foksiyonel bozulmayı ifade eden demansın ayırıcı tanısında, metabolikve yapısal nedenlerin ortaya konulması önemlidir. Bu nedenle demansın tanısında ayrıntılı öykü ve mental durum muayenesini de içeren tam bir fizik inceleme gereklidir. Daha sonra laboratuvar incelemelerine başvurulabilir. Bu çalışmada demansda tanı yöntemleri literatür eşliğinde tartışılmıştır.
