Abstract :The Contribution of P300 Test for Cognitive Evaluation in Multiple Sclerosis In this study 50 patients with the diagnosis of definite Multiple Sclerosis insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(MS); according to the Poser criteria, and 50 healty volunteers matched by the patients in the aspect of age. sex and duration of education were evaluated. The score was given to each MS patient by using the Expanded Disabilty Status Scale insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(EDSS);. Endogeneous event-related potentials as a neurophysiological test and Cross Cultural Cognitive Examination insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CCCE); test as a neurophsycological test have been used for the definition of cognitive performance in both the patient and the control groups. The relationships between the latency of P300 and the results of CCCE test in addition to duration of illness, EDSS score and duration of education was examined. Cognitive dysfunction was found in 25 patients insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(50 percent); with CCCE test.Dementia was diagnosed in eight patients insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(16 percent); who were mostly in Primary Progressive MS group. The mean latency of P300 was significantly longer in patients with demantia than both the control group and in tire patients without demantia. There was also a significant correlation between the latency of P300 and EDSS score. Bu çalışmada Poser kriterlerine göre kesin Multipl Skleroz insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(MS); tanısı alan 50 hasta ve bu hastalarla yaş, cinsiyet ve eğitim süresi benzer 50 sağlıklı gönüllü değerlendirildi. Her hastaya, Genişletilmiş İşgörmezlik Durum Skalası insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(EDSS); kullanılarak bir skor verildi. Hem hasta hem de kontrol grubunda kognitif fonksiyonların değerlendirmesi için nörofizyolojik test olarak olaya ilişkin endojen potansiyeller ve nöropsikolojik test olarak da Cross-Cultural Cognitive Examination insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CCCE); testi uygulandı. P300 latansı ile CCCE test sonuçlan, hastalık süresi, EDSS skoru ve eğitim süresi arasındaki ilişki araştırıldı. CCCE testi ile hastaların 25`inde insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%50); kognitif bozukluk bulundu. Sekiz hastada insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%16); demans tesbit edildi, bunlar Primer Progresif insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PP); MS grubunda çoğunluktaydı. Geri kalan 17 hastada insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%34); izole bozukluk mevcuttu. Ortalama P300 dalga latansı demanslılarda, kontrol grubu ile demansı olmayan hastalardan anlamlı olarak uzun bulundu. Ayrıca P300 latansı ile EDSS skoru arasında anlamlı bir korelasyon tespit edildi.
