A case of Takayasu’s Arteritis Presented with Fever of Unknown Origin: Diagnostic Value of 18F-FDG PET/CT Imaging

Abstract :Takayasu’s arteritis is a chronic vasculitis of the large vessels and has a rare initial presentation of fever of unknown origin insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(FUO);, renders the condition difficult to diagnose. Fluorodeoxyglucose insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(FDG); positron-emission tomography-computed tomography insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PET-CT); can assist in the early diagnosis of Takayasu’s Arteritis patients with FUO and can improve the prognosis of such patients. In this case report, we describe a 27-year-old female presented with one-month history of FUO, showing heterogeneous increased FDG accumulation along the walls of ascending and arch of aorta, left subclavian artery and right brachiocephalic truncus at PET-CT imaging.
