Abstract :Objective: We investigated the relationship between serum levels of endocan and disease activity in patients with Fibromyalgia. Material method: Forty-five patients who met the 2010 ACR FMS criteria and 28 healthy controls were included in the study. To measure the severity of the disease in patients with fibromyalgia insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(FMS);, the symptom severity scale insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SSS);, the widespread pain index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(WPI);, and the Visual Analogue Scale insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(VAS); were evaluated. Serum endocan, Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(NLR);, platelet-lymphocyte ratio insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PLR);, and CRP values of the patient and control groups were measured. Results: Patients with FMS had significantly higher serum endocan levels. Mean serum levels of endocan were 0.99 ± 0.28 ng/mL insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(range: 0.1-2.2); in patients with FMS and 0.63 ± 0.17); ng/mL insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(range: 0.4 ± 1.1); in control subjects insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p <0.05);. ROC analysis results for endocan level in the FMS group [AUC insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(%95 GA);: 0.89 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(0.81-0.97);, sensitivity: %68.9, specificity: %96]. A significant correlation was found between endocan levels and SSS insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r:0.33 p: 0.004);. Conclusion: Our study, in which we detected significantly higher endocan levels in patients with FMS compared to controls, supported the use of endocan as an important potential marker for FMS.
