Abstract :This research was carried out to compare fattening performance of fat-tailed Akkaraman and Dağlıç and thin tailed Kıvırcık and Merino and mid-fat tailed Malya sheep breeds. In this research, a total of 50 lambs were used and each genotype group was consisted of 10 male lambs about 2 ½ months of age of which beginning live weight averaged 20 kg. They were fed up with ad libitum concetrated feed and given 150 g alfalfa to each animal for a fattening period of 68 days. Feed conversion ratios were found as follows; 4.31, 5.25, 5.33, 4.53, 4.34 and total feed consumption rates were; 86.6, 81.3, 79.9, 90.1 and 85.7 kg for Akkaraman, Dağlıç, Kıvırcık Malya and Merino respectively. Daily live weight gains were 304, 234, 211, 303, 279 g respectively. There were significant differences between groups in respect of daily live weight gains insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.05); and feed consumption rates insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.01);. Whereas there is no significant difference in feed conversion ratios. Keywords : Koyun ırkları, yağlı kuyruk, ince kuyruk, besi performansı
