Abstract :This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of light systems which is commonly being used in layer houses on production traits, egg quality traits and heterophil:lymphocyte insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(H:L); rates of H&N Brown Nick hens in Konya province of Turkey. A total of 160 laying hens at 56 wks of age hens were used for 5 weeks study period. The hens were caged in standard cages equipped with fluorescent lamps for each 6 m length and placed to the ceiling of the poultry houses in order to obtain the similar light intensity with the poultry houses located in the province. Each tier was called 1, 2, 3 and 4 from top to bottom of the cages. The mean light-ing intensities of the groups were measured as 68.08, 41.68 and 31.54, respectively. The cage unit was placed in a light tight re-search unit in the research farm. The photo schedule was 16 h of light and 8 h of darkness throughout the study. There were statis-tical differences among the groups for percent hen day egg production, total egg mass, and FCR and shell strength. The lowest egg production, egg mass were found at the first treatment group insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(P<0.05);. Furthermore, the highest feed consumption, the lowest shell breakage resistance and the worst FCR value was also found at the first treatment group. However, the highest H: L ratio was found as 1.12 at the third tier insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(P<0.01);. In conclusion, exposure the current hybrids to the light intensities more than 41 lux would be harmful on egg production parameters.
