A Study on the Morphological, Biological, and Agricultural Characteristics of Some Local White Lupin (Lupinus albus L.) Varieties Cultivated in Konya Province

Abstract :This research has been conducted to investigate morphological, biological and agricultural characteristics of some white lupines traditionally grown in Konya district, and to determine the local differences mostly produced in Central-Çamurlu town, Seydişehir-Ketenli, Hüyük- Çavuş, Doğanhisar-Deştiğin and Doğanhisar-Ayaslar towns. Altitudes of the trials fields were changing between 1026 m and 1220 m. The research has lasted for one year in 1989 growing season in the fields which fallow-wheat rotation system applied. Seeds were sown on dry lands which has bean left for fallow and no agronomic maintenance was applied. The results were found as fallow; There were significant differences between the districts in respect of plant density m² (28.33-48.33), plant heigth (47.73-69.87 cm), branch number (2.80-3.80), seed widths (8.30-9.60 mm) and very significant differences were found in respect of lenght of stem (3.09-6.08), leaf number (28.53-63.80), pod number per plant (3.67-8.50), pod width (1.16-1.31 cm), seed number per plant (12.90-26.30), seed yield per plant (3.43- 7.56), seed yield (97.20-317.50 kg/da), forage yield per plant (42.70- 75.70 g), forage yield (1628.80-3121.20 kg/da), dry matter of seed (91.70-92.58%), ashes (2.92-5.79%), crude protein percentages of the seed (33.14-35.57%), crude cellulose (11.81-13.52 %) and weight of 1000 seeds (289.82-339.50 g). There were no statistical differences between the districts in respect of cluster length (4.36-5.73 cm), flower number per cluster (4.90-6.60), seed number per pod (3.03-3.44), pod length (4.86-6.10), seed length (9.07-9.97 mm) and oil percentages of the seed (9.95-10.82%).Keywords : KONYA, ACIBAKLA, BİYOLOJİK
