Abstract :This research was conducted to compare the germination and different viability tests on different corn variety groups at laboratory conditions. The research was arranged to the factorial random plot experimental design as three replications. In the research, the paper germination and tetrazolium tests were applied to the seeds of TTM-813 dent corn variety (Zea mays L. indentata), pop corn population (Zea mays, L. everta) and sweet corn compozite variety (Zea mays L. saccharata). The tetrazolium test was applied to the different types on corn variety groups. The factors were; T1 Application of tetrazolium solutions to grain, T2 Application of tetrazolium solution on embriyo, T3 Aleuron tetrazolium test, T4 Application of tetrazolium solution on grain after cutting of embriyo coat. The differences between germination and viability rate, and variety group x germination and viability test interaction was obtained significant statistically. The average germination rate of the variety groups was 87.8%. Viability rates which were obtained from T1, T2, T3 and T4 tetrazolium applications were 54.9%, 97.7%, 43.0% and 70.0 % respectively, when the variety groups were examined separetely, the best result was obtained from tetrazolium application on embriyo of pop and dent corn veriety and tetrazolium appli- cation on grain and grain after cutting of embriyo coat of sweet corn. These results were similar to germination rate. Keywords : MISIR, ÇİMLENDİRME, FARKLI CANLILIK,
