Abstract :One experiment was conducted to determine the effect of diets containing high energy with different levels of protein on the performance and carcass weight of growing Japanese quall. In the study, the quails were fed with the diet containing 3200 kcal/kg ME and five different levels of protein (18, 21, 24, 27 and 30%) for 5 weeks. The research was conducted in randomized plot design with three replicates of ten birds each (total 150 quails). When the quail was fed diet containing 24% protein, body weight, weight gain and carcass weight at 5 weeks old were found to be significantly higher (p<0.05). There were no significant difference beetwen the groups were fed with 18, 21, 27 and 30% protein in terms of mentioned characters in above. Cumulative feed intake and feed / gain of the quail group that were ſed the diet containing 18% protein were significantly higher at the level 0.05 and 0.01 respectively from other groups. There were also no significant difference between feed/gain ratios of groups containing 24-30% protein and those of groups containing 21-30% protein in diet in the period of 0-3 weeks and 0-5 weeks respectively. Keywords : Japon bıldırcını, metabolik enerji. protein, performans, kar- kas ağırlığı
