Abstract :In this work, the effects of some slow release and conventionally used fast release (AS, Ammonium sulphate) nitrogen sources in the soils of Niğde-Misli plain on nitrogen nutrition of the potato plants grown under greenhouse conditions and the agronomic and physiological effectiveness of nitrogen were determined. Increasing levels of nitrogen applied to the soil increased the nitrogen content of plant leaves as mean of nitrogen sources. Except for AS, AS+N- serve and AS+PG (AS+Phosphogypsum) applications, the nitrogen content of plant leaves decreased from the initial stage of blooming period to the harvest. On the other hand, nitrogen content of leaves at the initial stage of blooming period which is 54 days after planting was found as less than critical level (5%) for the following applications: at N₁ (15 kg N/da) dose in all nitrogen sources except for AS+SCU (AS+sulphur coated urea) and at N2 (30 kg N/da)dose of FLD (Floranid) and AZN (Azolon). The amount of nitrogen uptake for potato plant decreased from the tuber to the stalk and to leaves. It was determined that agronomic and physiological effectiveness of nitrogen decreased with the increasing amount of nitrogen applied, so that the highest agronomic and physiological effectivenesses were obtained with the applications of slow releasing nitrogen sources (AZN, FLD, SCU) but the lowest with the AS applications. Keywords : NİĞDE MİSLİ OVASI, AZOT KAYNAKALARI, PATATES BİTKİSİ
