Abstract :This research was carried out in the Malkara region of Thrace in order to determine the effects on the quality and yield of sugar beet of applying foliar fertiliser, both in combination with soil fertiliser and on its own according to soil analysis. Ammonium nitrate (33 % N) was used as soil fertiliser and LACTOFOL-B as foliar fertiliser, containing 20% N, 20% K, 2% Mg, 1% B, trace elements Mn, Cu, Zn, Mo, Co and Fe, amino acids and physiologically effective agents. In the investigation, quality parameters studied were: total weight, root weight, leaf weight, sugar ratio, harmful nitrogen ratio and sugar yield per decare. The experiment was laid out according to a random block system, including control blocks, using four replications and two levels cach of soil and foliar fertiliser. The results of this research indicate that the highest values for total weight, root weight and leaf weight were obtained from te plots receiving both so and unser, and the lowest values were obtained from plots using only foliar fertiliser. The highest sugar ratio and lowest harmful nitrogen ratio were to be found on the plots using soil fertiliser plus 1-1.5 lt/da foliar fertiliser. The lowest sugar yield was obtained from the control plots. From the results it was concluded that, in the sugar beet cultivation arca studied, the application of a foliar fertiliser together with soil fertiliser has a positive influence on the yield and quality parameters of sugar beet. Keywords : Şeker pancarı, yaprak gübresi, şeker oranı, zararlı azot, verim, kalite
