Abstract :The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of microwave on the localization of ascorbic acid in the rat adrenal gland. We studies on 21 male Spraque-Dawley rast insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(220-250 g);, aged 2.5 month. The animals were divided into three different groups. First group was taken on control insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n:7);. The second group insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n:7); 9450 MHz, 2.65 mW/cm 2 was applied for one hour a day for 13 days, while in the third group insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n:7); this application continued for 52 days. Rast were sacrified under ether anaesthesia and then their adrenal gland were removed enbloc and fixed in silver nitrate solution insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(10 %);. The paraffin sections were stained with Alum Carmen and evaluated under the ligth microscope. In group I, the ascorbic acid granules formed a homogen distribution, whereas in the second group the ascorbic acid in the capsula capiller endothelium and zona glomerulosa of adrenal gland does not exit, but a different formation was observed in the fasciulata, reticularis and medulla. One the other hand, in group III animals the ascorbic acid granules being in accumulation was clearly seen in the endothelium of the capiller sinuzoids. In conclusion, the reason or the increase of ascorbic acid granulles in the adrenal glands of the rast to which microwave was applied for long duration, is likely to be due to the increase of body resistance against stress response.
