Abstract :The type specimen of Magnolia odoratissima Y.W.Law & R.Z.Zhou insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Magnoliaceae); conflicts with the protologue and belongs to the genus Parakmeria Hu & W.C.Cheng. A new name, Magnolia kwangnanensis S.G.Chen & Q.W.Zeng sp. nov., and a new type are designated to accommodate the original description. Here we provide new data and a detailed morphological description for this species. Notes are also presented on its habitat, pollen morphology, and conservation status.
