Abstract :The chromosome numbers of 16 of the 19 endemic taxa of Northern Cyprus were investigated, 15 of which are new records. Diploid chromosome numbers of the taxa investigated varied between 2n = 12 and 2n = 30. One species, Scutellaria sibthorpii insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Benth.); Hal., was both diploid insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2n = 14); and tetraploid insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2n = 28);, and Sideritis cypria Post, 2n = 30, was either diploid or triploid.
