Abstract :Variously substituted N-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(4-phenyl-3-aroylthiazol-2insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(3H);-ylidene);benzamides insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2a-t); were prepared by base-catalyzed cyclization of corresponding 1-aroyl-3-aryl thioureas with acetophenone in the presence of bromine. Some of the synthesized compounds were assayed in vitro for their antifungal activity and were found to exhibit low to moderate activity.
