Synthesis of vic-Dioxime Derivatives with Hydrazone Side Groups and Their Metal Complexes

Abstract :Two novel vic-dioxime insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(L1H2, L2H2); compounds bearing hydrazone side groups and their transition metal complexes Niinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, Coinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, Cuinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, and Zninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); were synthesized. The vic-dioxime ligands bearing hydrazone side groups were synthesized by reacting anti-glyoximehydrazine insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(GH2); with 4-nitroacetophenone and 4-methylacetophenenone, respectively. Ligands form mononuclear complexes [insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LH);2M] with a metal to ligand ratio of 1:2 with M=Coinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(H2O);2, Niinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, and Cuinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);. Zninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); forms complexes [insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LH);insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(H2O);insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Cl);Zn] with a metal to ligand ratio of 1:1. The Coinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); complexes of the ligands are proposed to be octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands, the Niinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); and Cuinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); complexes are proposed to be square planar, and the complexes of Zninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); are tetrahedral. A chloride ion and a water molecule are also coordinated to the Zninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); ion. Structural assignments are supported by a combination of 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMQC, FT-IR, elemental analyses, and magnetic susceptibility.
