Synthesis and characterization of substituted benzimidazole Co(II), Fe(II), and Zn(II) complexes and structural characterization of dichlorobis{1-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethyl]-1H-benzimidazole-K N3} zinc(II)

Abstract :The Coinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, Feinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, and Zninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); complexes of 1-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(3-phenyl);propylbenzimidazole insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PPBI);, 5-nitro-1-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(3-phenyl); propylbenzimidazole insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PPNBI);, 1-[2-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(4-morpholinyl);ethyl]benzimidazole insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(MEBI);, 1-[2-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1-piperidinyl);ethyl]benzimidazole insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PEBI);, and 5-nitro-1-[2-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1-piperidinyl);ethyl]benzimidazole insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PENBI); were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and elemental analyses. The magnitudes of the magnetic moments for paramagnetic complexes were between 4.07 and 5.11 B.M. Moreover, the crystal structure of dichlorobis{1-[2-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1-piperidinyl);ethyl]-1H-benzimidazole-KN3} zincinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.Keywords : Benzimidazole metal complexes, transition metal complexes, coordination compounds, crystal structure
