Abstract :An efficient protocol for the synthesis of 2-bromonorbornene, 2-bromonorbornadiene, 2-bromoben- zonorbornadiene, 2,3-dibromonorbornene, 2,3-dibromonorbornadiene, and 2,3-dibromobenzonorbornadiene in good yields has been developed. 1,2-Dibromotetrachloroethane is used as the brominating agent for these reactions. The results are discussed in comparison with alternative methods in the literature.
