Abstract :ÖZET Deniz seviyesinden 2000 metre yüksekte bulanan Erzurum Ovasında yetiştiriıebilecek tath mısır çeşitlerini tesbit etmek üzere Amerika Birleşik Devletlerinden temin edilen ı 8 tatlı mmr çeşidi 1966 yılmda denemeye alınmıştır. Denemeye alınan çeşitlerin erkencilik durumlart, sap, koçan ı'e tane ı'erimleri incelenmiştir. Erzurum Ovasında yetiştirelebilecek tatlı mısır varyetelerinin tesbitinde çeşiterin erkencilik durumları ön planda tutlmuştur. Denemeden elde edilen sonuçlara göre; Erzurum Arasında erken gelişme Te dekara fazla sayıda koçan elde edebilme bakamından Golden Midget; erken gelişme, sap, koçan ve tane verimleri bakımlanndan da North Starr çeşitlerinin yeşitiştirilebileceği tesbit edilmışiir. SUMMARY In order to study the feassibility of sweet com production in the Erzurum Valley which is about 2000 meters above sea level 18 varieties and hybrids of sweet com were obtained from .Toseph Harris, W. Atlee BLlrpee, Rogers Brothers, and Nortllrup King seed companies cf the United States of America. E:ırIiness, the number of ears, seed and stnlk yields of the sweet com varieties wcre detenUined. Tf:e earliness was considered as the main criterion to determine the best variety to be grown in the Erzurum Valley. Hybrid-2463, Gold Cup, Domİnator-48043, Golden Bantam, Northrup King-199, and .Tubilee were Iate whereas North Starr, Spring Gold, Earliking, Wi1İte Midget, and Golden Midget were in the approximate maturity range.
