Abstract :ÖZET Araştırmada penicillin, erithromycin, terramycin ve novobiocin olmak üzere dört ayrı veteriner tebabette çok kullanılan antibiotiğin, rumen özsuyunun üreaz aktivitesi, uçuçu yağ asit/eri prodüksiyonu ve total canlı bakteri sayısı üzerine tesirleri incelenmiştir. Antibiotikler rumen özsuyunun her 100 santimetre küpü için 1 ve 10 milgram olarak ilave edilmiş, kontrolleri ile birlikte, 39° C de ve anaerap şartlarda inkübasyon ile, O, 6, 12, ve 24 üncü saatlerde testlere tabi tutulmuştur. İhtiyaç olan rumen özsuyu rumenlerine kapaklı ve devamlı fistiil açılmış herefort tosun/ardan elde edilmiştir. Kullanılmış olan bütün antibiotiklerin, üreaz aktivitesi ve total canlı bakteri sayısı üzerine azaltıcı olarak etki ettikleri ve bütün testlerde yüksek konsantrasyon/arın düşük/erine oranla daha tesirli oldukları müşahade edilmiştir. Uçucu yağ asit/eri produksiyonu üzerine ise, erithromycı'n ve novobiocinin az bir derecede azaltıcı etkileri olduğu halde penicillin ve terramycinin düşük konsantrasyonlarda hiç bir tesir görülmemiş, yüksek konsantrasyon/ar ise farkedilir derecede bir etki göstermiştir. Summary The effects of penicillin , erythromycin, terramycin, and novobiocin on in vi/ro (1) urease activity, (2) volatil fatty acid production, and (3) total number of viable bacteria in rurnen fluid were investigeated, incubating anaerobically at 39° C, at O, 6, 12, and 24 hour intervals. The rumen iluid was taken from an fistulated Hereford steer. The antibiotics were used at two levels.! and i{) mg per 100 ml of mmen liquor. All antibiotics exhibited inhibitory effects on meuase activity, and on the total number of viable bacteria in the mmen fluid. in all cases, the inhibitory effects of the high concentration of antibiotics were greater than that of the lower levels. Penicillin and terramycin did not show an effect on volatil fatty acid productuion, while erythromyein and novobioein deereased volatil fatty acid produetion in same degree.
