Abstract :ÖZET: Bu çalışma, 2001 yılının Temmuz ve Ağustos aylarında Kemaliye (Erzincan) ve Yusufeli (Artvin) ilçelerinde biber üretim alanlarındaki virüslerin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Sürvey çalışmaları esnasında, yapraklarında mozaik, kıvrılma, deformasyon ve sarılık gibi virüslere özgü simptom gösteren biber bitkilerinden alınan yaprak örnekleri patates X virüsü (PVX), patates Y virüsü (PVY), hıyar mozaik virüsü (CMV) ve tütün mozaik virüsüne (TMV) spesifik ELISA kitleri ile test edilmiştir. Çalışmada, Kemaliye ilçesindeki üretim alanlarından 30, Yusufeli ilçesindeki üretim alanlarından ise 15 yaprak örneği olmak üzere toplam 45 örnek testlenmiştir. Sonuçta, Kemaliye ilçesinden alınan 30 yaprak örneğinden 11’inin PVY, 7’sinin TMV ve 1’inin ise PVY+TMV; Yusufeli ilçesinden alınan 15 yaprak örneğinden 6’sının PVY, 3’ünün ise TMV ile enfekteli olduğu saptanmış, PVX ve CMV virüslerine ise rastlanılmamıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Biber, PVY, TMV, Kemaliye, Yusufeli Identification of Some Virus Diseases in Pepper Production Areas in Kemaliye and Yusufeli Districts   ABSTRACT: This study was conducted to determine virus diseases on pepper production areas in Kemaliye (Erzincan) and Yusufeli (Artvin) districts during July and August in 2001. Leaf samples collected from pepper plants showing virus-like symptoms (mosaic, deformation, rolling of leaves, yellowing) were tested DAS-ELISA (Double Antibody Sandwich-Enzyme Linked Imminosorbent Assay) against PVX, PVY, CMV and TMV viruses. Total 45 pepper leaf samples composed of 30 from Kemaliye, and 15 from Yusufeli were collected, were subjected to the assay. The results of ELISA tests showed that pepper leaf samples infected with 11 PVY, 7 TMV and 1 PVY+TMV in 30 samples taken from Kemaliye, and 6 PVY and 3 TMV of 15 samples from Yusufeli. On the other hand, none of PVX and CMV viruses were detected in the samples tested in the study. Key words: pepper, viruses, PVY, TMV, Kemaliye, Yusufeli
