Abstract :ÖZET Ev ıeke böceği (Hylotrupes bajulus)'nin Erzurum ve yöresindeki qhşap kanıtılarda önem/i derecede zarar yaptığı ve hatta bazı konutların kullanılamaz hale geldiği saptanmıştır. Bu böçeğin /arvaları odun/arın içerisinde galeri/er açmakta; rutubet ısı ve odunların ihtiva ettiği gıda f maddelerine bağıl olarak, birkaç yılda olgun larva haline gelmekte ve meydana getirdiğl pup odacağında pup olmaktadır. Ergin böcekler, açtıklm ı oval deliklerden dışarı çıkmakta, bu da en fazla temmuzda olmakta ve eylüle kadar devam etmektedir. Erzurum şehir merkezindeki bazı ahşap evlerde ve Oltu'ya -bağlı Başakb köyünde yapılan incelemelerde; böcek populasyonunu» çok yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Buna etki eden faktörlerin başında,. binaların toprak damlı olması nedeniyle odunların böceğin arzu ettiği miktarda rutubete sahip olması re halkın inşaatta düşük kaliteli kereste kullanmalarımn olduğu tahmin edilmektedir. Ev ıeke böceği ile savaşta değişik yöntemler tatbik edilmektedir. Bunlar; ı. Zararlının bulunduğu binalata sıcak hava verilerek ısıtılması. 2. Binaların methyl bromide veya HCN gazı ile fumigasyonu, 3. 0dunların yüzeyden firça veya püskürtme suretiyle ilaçlanması. 4. Fazla zarar görmüş odunların koruyucu maddelerle muamele edilmiş yeni odunlarla değiştirilmesi. Bu çalişmadaki gözlemler; ev teke böceği ile mutlaka savaşılması gerektiğin~, orman ve zirai mücadele teşkilatlarının bu konuya eğilmeletinin faydalı olacağını ortaya koymuştur. Ev ıeke böceğine ilaveten, Erzurum ve yöresinde muhtelif bitkilerde zarar yapall Cerambycidae familyasma giren 30 tür tesbit edilmiştir. Bunların hemen tamamı Erzurum re yöresi için, 14 tanesi de Türkiye için yeni türlerdir. SUMMARY THE OLD HOUSE BORER (Hylotrupes bojulus (L.) Serville) AND OTHER LONG-HORNED BEETLES IN THE VICINITY OF ERZURUM This study showed that the old house borer. was an important pest in buildings in Eızurum ıegion of Turkey. The larvae bore through and also feed on wood. In tuneling the wood, they freqııently Jeave a thin partition at the surface that makes detection more diffieult, espeieia!ly in relatively new buildings. The larvae require severel years to eomplate larva! stage depending an the temperattlr, humidity and abundanee of nutrient mateıails in the wood. Mature larvae change into pupae within the pupaJ room. AdiJlts emerge from the broadly ova) holes. Adults beg,in to fly in june, population decrease tomard Allgust, how~ ver, some bectles being found in September. Same of the buildings hava had severely damaged, even several of them had to be tanı down. According to my observation the style of the [Oof eonstmetion of the buildings İn Erzurum effeets the population of the old house borer. in Eastem An?tolia tlte roofs of most buildings are flat and covered with soil eontaining more day. This helps the woo\İ having optimum amount of moistıır. On the other hand the woods using ~n eonstruetion are not in good quality. These may help to aceeleıate growth rate of larvae, shorten life cyCıes and increase amount of damage done. In the control of H. bajuhıs following ways are used; (1) pumping hat "air into the bııildings, (2) tuinig&ting buildings witb eİther methyl bromide or hydroeyanie aci! gas, (3) making su:penieiaI brush or spray treatmeats, (4) replacing struetura!ly damaged lumber wİth wood impregnated with a preservative. Basides of H. b(y'ulus 30 spıceı!> of long homed beetles were found İlı the "'ıcıpıty of Erzurum. Almoı;t all of them are new for this region and 14 of them are new for the Turkish' fauna.
