Abstract :ÖZET : Tahıllar genellikle taneleri için yetiştirilirler, fakat bir yembitkisi olarak da kullanılabilirler. Hızlı ve kuvvetli büyüme, yüksek verim kapasitesi ve kısa vejetasyon süresine sahiptirler. Ancak yapılan çalışmalar tahılların besleme değerinin hayvanlar için yetersiz olduğunu göstermektedir. Yüksek oranda yapısal madde ihtiva ettiğinden tahıl otunun sindirimi düşüktür. THE NUTRITION VALUES OF SMALL GRAIN CEREALS AS HAY ABSTRACT : The small grain cereals are generally grown for seed, but they can also be used as a hay. They have fast and vigorous growth, high yielding capacity and short vegetation period. But studies displayed thet their feeding values were usually insufficient for livestock. Digestibility of cereal hay is low since it has high contents of indigestable structural components.
