Abstract :The problems dealing with some simple flows of a mixture of two incompressible Newtonian fluids have been analysed. By using the theory of binary mixtures of Newtonian fluids, the equations governing the velocity fields are reduced to a system of coupled ordinary differential equations. In the case of non-inertial flow the analytical solutions of these equations have been obtained for the following three problems: insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(i); the parallel flow with a free surface; insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ii); the flow between intersecting planes, one of which is moving; insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(iii); the flow between two coaxial moving cylinders.
