Abstract :In this study, bolt and gear selections were performed according to area of usage by the expert system approach. The relevant rules in the database having been interpreted by the system, appropriate decisions were made for selection of the elements. The database was prepared by taking into consideration the working conditions of bolt and gears. Selection rules were analysed in the program.
