Abstract :Measurements of global solar radiation and sunshine duration data during the period from 1984 to 1999 at Onne insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(within the rainforest climatic zone of southern Nigeria); were used to establish an Angstrom-type correlation equation. Five other commonly used correlations between global solar radiation and sunshine duration were also used to estimate global solar irradiation for Onne and their results are compared with our model. A good agreement insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(greater than 90% in most cases); was observed between the measured and the predicted values of our model.
