Abstract :In this study, echocardiograpic examination was performed on 20 healthy New Zealand rabbits. All rabbits were examined by the color Doppler technique using a 5-7.5 Mhz transducer. Images were obtained from parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical four-chamber and modified four-chamber sections. The anatomy and function of hearts were examined in each rabbit individually. The values obtained were not significantly different from those obtained in dogs and cats. In addition, the changes seen in the right ventricle parameters were consistent with the changes in the left ventricle parameters.
