Abstract :In this study, the results of observations made in different localities insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Edirne and environs, the Istranca Mountains, Iğneada and environs); of the Thrace region are evaluated. Field work was carried out during the period 1987-1996, comprising a total of 228 working days in the field. The findings were discussed and compared with data currently available in the literature. As a result, 179 species belonging to 50 families were recorded. These species and related data are collated in a table. The importance of the region and the problems that threaten the ornito-fauna are discussed.
