Abstract :Dudak damak yarıkları insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(DDY);, genetik ve çevresel faktörlerin etkili olduğu multifaktöriyel anamolilerdir. DDY çeşitli sendromlarla birlikte görülebileceği gibi, sıklıkla hastada herhangi bir sendrom bulunmaksızın da oluşabilmektedir. Konuşma bozuklukları, duyma hasarı, kronik kulak enfeksiyonları, dental ve ortodon- tik problemlerle birlikte psikolojik uyumsuzluklar DDY’den etkilenen bireylerde karşılaşılabilecek sorun- lardır. Multidisipliner tedavi yaklaşımıyla fiziksel defekt onarımı sağlanarak, estetik ve fonksiyonel problem- lerin giderilmesi hedeflenir. Hastaların tedavileri do- ğumla birlikte başlayarak yetişkin bir birey olana kadar devam eden uzun ve komplike bir süreci kapsamak- tadır. Alveoler kemik greftlemesi insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(AKG);, DDY’den etkilenen hastaların tedavi sürecinde tercih edilmekte olan en etkili seçeneklerinden biridir. AKG kullanılarak yarık bölgesi fonksiyonel olarak rekonstrükte edilmeye çalışılırken aynı zamanda estetik olarak iyileşme hedef- lenir. Dudak operasyonuyla eş zamanlı ya da kısa bir süre sonra yapılan primer AKG, süt dişleri sürmeden önce uygulanmış olur. Ancak, maksillanın büyüme ve gelişimi üzerindeki belirsiz etkileri gibi bir takım dez- avantajları taşıması nedeniyle günümüzde daha az sıklıkla uygulanmaktadır. Primer AKG’nin dezavan- tajlarını elimine etmek amacıyla sekonder AKG’ye yö- nelinmiştir. Sekonder AKG, genellikle karışık dentisyon döneminde uygulanır. Bütünlüğü sağlanmış bir dental ark oluşturularak, diş migrasyonuna ve ortodontik diş hareketine fonksiyonel olarak cevap verebilecek kemik dokusu elde edilir. Bu derlemede DDY’den etkilenen hastalarda AKG’nin tarihsel gelişimi, AKG uygulaması, greft materyalleri, olası komplikasyonlar,  AKG sonuçları ve  başarısı ele alınmıştır. CLP is associated with orofacial syndromes and mostly occurs as an isolated abnormality. Children with CLP are in risk for speech disorders, hearing deficits, chronic ear infections, dental and orthodontic problems and psychological maladjustment. Multidisciplinary treatment principle intends correction of the physical defect with func- tional and cosmetic outcome. Treatment of patients with CLP is complicated and long-term care from birth to adulthood. Alveolar bone grafting insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ABG); is one of the most effective alternatives in treatment of patients with CLP. The objective of ABG is to reconstruct the cleft area functionally while improving esthetics. Primer ABG involves grafting of bone in the neonatal cleft at the time of the lip repair or soon afterwards, prior to the eruption of the deciduous incisors. Since ABG has disadvantages such as negative influence on growth and maturation of maxilla, it is not common in contemporary practice. Secondary ABG is preferred to eliminate the disadvantages of primer ABG. Secondary ABG is generally carried out in the mixed dentition. It helps making a complete maxillary arch and bone to enables teeth to respond functionally to migration and orthodontic tooth movement. In this review, the historical development of ABG, ABG applications, graft materials, possible complications, the assessment and success of ABG outcomes in patients with CLP are discussed.
